Welcome

 

 

                        to the LaFayette Longrifles.  This group is for the hunting, shooting, reenacting, history of the Colonial Era in Eastern United States.  Shooting is limited to period type Black Powder weapons only. (Percussion, Flintlock, rifled, smooth bore, Brown Bess, Hawkin, Kentucky Long Rifle, Pennsylvania Long Rifle, Enfield, Percussion Shotgun…)

Ava Francesca – keeper of faces –has been a re-enactors’ photographer at living history events for over two decades.  Her ‘2nd Amendment Rights Portrait’ features Gordon Smith of Fayetteville, NC along with a rifle by Andy Sally.  Gordon has been a re-enactor for over 20 years. He’s a decorated veteran who served for over 25 years in the Army Special Forces.  (He is a member of the Special Forces Hall of Fame)  Allan has been building rifles for over 20 years.  A West Virginia native he’s a three time winner of the ‘Best in Show’ at Dixons Gunmakers Fair.  For more on photographer Ava Francesca, see page 72.  Contact her at Ava42@aol.com or 973-495-8551.

v  No alcohol or drugs allowed on club property.

v  Open fires – Sod will be turned back and returned so as to leave no trace.

v  Children must have direct adult (parent or guardian) supervision at all times

v  No pets allowed.

v  No modern lanterns or flashlights allowed – candle lanterns only.

 

v  Speed Limit:  Please observe the speed limit on Flintlock Lane leading to the range - 10 MPH.

v  Dress:  Period dress is highly encouraged, but not required.

v  Merchants / Blanket Traders Welcomed:  Merchants, sutlers and blanket traders are encouraged to attend and may set up in the designated area.  No fee charged.

      All Matches:        

v  One weapon per match, sights per match description, single patched/wadded round ball

v  Eye and hearing protection highly recommended

v  Prime or cap weapon only on the firing line/firing point facing the target

v  NO LOADED WEAPONS, primed/capped or not, removed from the firing/loading area

v  Entry Fee – $6 per aggregate (members $5) (re-entry, practice not included).

v  Rentry/Practice – $1

 

       Please Note:  All participants are reminded to pack in their own water and pack out their own trash.  Meals will be partaken at

                       Bailey’s Tavern.  Bring your own dish, cup, and utensils.
